Book a visit

How to book

To book a visit by a PhD student from DTU, you need to send a request to bookphd-besoeg@dtu.dk.

When requesting a visit, your email should include the following:

  • Which presentation(s) do you want to book?
  • Which class does the visit concern (subject, level, and age group/form)?
  • When would you like to receive a visit (time of day/week/year)?
  • How long does each module last at your school?
  • Which language would you like the lecture to be given in by the PhD student?
  • Would you like a physical or digital visit?
  • Your contact details: Name, email and upper secondary school
  • Any other comments or wishes

Once the email has been received, you will be put in touch with the PhD student. You can then expect a dialogue about the exact time for the visit and matching expectations regarding academic content and level.

Like you, our PhD students have busy daily lives with teaching and other commitments. If you can suggest several possible dates for a visit, it will improve the chances of finding one that will work for everyone.

The lectures are free, and are offered to upper secondary schools throughout Denmark.

Each PhD student has developed a presentation based on their own PhD project, their enthusiasm for their subject, and the story of how they ended up studying for a PhD degree at DTU after leaving upper secondary school (or equivalent).

Therefore, no two visits will be the same, as each narrative from a PhD student is unique. The PhD students are able to target their presentation to the class which they have been invited to speak to. As a teacher, you are able to discuss content, duration, etc. with the PhD student.

See the current subject presentations in the catalogue (only available in Danish).
