How do we build good machines?

Faglige nøgleord: mechanical engineering, machine design, process monitoring, manufacturing, precision, sustainability

Oplæg tilgængeligt på: Engelsk

I am researching in the field of Precision Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. My focus is on improving the sustainability of one of the most common and universal metal manufacturing processes. Simultaneously, the goal of my project is to make manufacturing in Denmark more competitive by developing new technology that enables local manufacturers to produce highly advanced parts at a lower cost.
I hold a Bachelor's of Engineering from Aarhus University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from DTU. I have worked in large international research environments and have done contract work in the United States, working on F-35 aircraft manufacturing. Before starting my PhD, I also worked at two startups developing Nordic orbital launch systems.
My presentation would cover my education and career path to date, as well as the contents of my PhD project. I would focus on explaining why we need ultra-precise machines and how we develop and test them.
