Microdevices: Small Solutions for Big Challenges

Faglige nøgleord: Micro/nano technology, sensors, disease diagnosis, semiconductors, biodegradation, light

Oplæg tilgængeligt på: Engelsk

I have a background in mechanical engineering and currently doing a PhD in bioengineering department. Throughout my career, I have worked in different fields from automobile engineering, solar energy, working in a company and finally design and development of tiny devices specially for healthcare. My PhD project is about development of a micro platform for studying cancer tissues.
In my presentation, I will talk about my personal journey towards this field of research. Next we will delve into the realm of microtechnology which has enabled us to have mobile phones and laptops. Later, explore how these miniature machines are poised to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time: from healthcare and environmental monitoring to communication and beyond.
The presentation will give an overview of how these tiny devices are designed and made, that is, journey from paper to the lab and into the real life. Finally, some examples of the devices I am working on and their application in healthcare.
