Why Destructed Buildings Could Save Our Planet - A New CO2 Capture Method

Faglige nøgleord: climate change, global warming, carbon capture, geochemistry, geology, reactor design

Oplæg tilgængeligt på: Engelsk og tysk

I am a PhD student with a background in Chemistry and now working on a geochemistry project about carbon capture using waste building materials.

I come from a small town in the Austrian Alps, where I have spent all my school life. I then moved to Vienna to study Chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna. During my master’s I spent a year in Uppsala, Sweden. After finishing my master’s, I decided to look for a PhD position at DTU because it has a good reputation.

For my visit I would like to address the following topics:

  1. My academic background, university life in different countries, and how I decided to move to DTU to pursue a PhD

  2. A brief introduction to global warming, the biggest challenges, and how carbon capture will play a vital role in the green transition

  3. A more detailed insight into my current project about a new carbon capture method using waste building materials

I am planning to prepare an engaging visit, giving the students the opportunity to interact with quizzes, exercises, and hopefully some props.
